Transforming a Jacksonville Home with Hardscaping Expertise
Jacksonville homeowner Larry Hutson wanted to revamp his landscape, and Rockaway Landscape Design was up for the challenge. Landscape Designer David Holloway led the project, focusing on hardscaping elements to create a more functional and inviting outdoor space. Foreman Mike Leahy and crew masterfully completed the tear-out and installation.
Elevating the Entryway
The project began with the front yard. A brand new walkway paved with Mega-Cambridge pavers from Belgard led up to the door, exuding a hand-cobbled charm in a titanium shade. The walkway incorporated a step up to transition smoothly from the patio, creating a distinctive visual element and enhancing accessibility.
Planting for Pollinators and Practicality
While winter dormancy muted the landscape’s vibrancy, Holloway assures us that spring will bring a delightful display of butterfly and bee-attracting plants. The selection included salvia, firebush, blue daze, and easy-care loriope.
Expanding the Driveway for Safety and Ease
A major concern for Hutson was the narrowness of his driveway, making exiting his car cumbersome, especially with family and car seats. Rockaway Landscape Design widened the driveway, providing a safe and level surface for walking and maneuvering. They extended the pavers beyond the gate in the backyard as well, eliminating muddy patches and creating a designated pathway for frequent use.
