Corner Lot Challenges, Creative Solutions
This project showcases Rockaway’s expertise in navigating unique challenges. Corner lots often present a variety of challenges requiring careful planning to ensure safety and functionality. Here’s the ones we tackle for this project:
- Permeable Solutions: Atlantic Beach has strict permeability requirements to manage stormwater runoff. Swales are a great option for onsite water containment that’s good for the environment, but can make it difficult for walking. Rockaway used creative solutions like Trex decking with integrated cable railings for walkways, which allows water to pass through while providing a beautiful and safe walking surface.
