This wasn&#8217;t just any tree planting, but one Robin donated to the Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) where she&#8217;s developed a deep connection.<\/p>\n<p>Robin wasn&#8217;t always the confident animal advocate she was today. Initially shy and struggling with reading, she found solace in JHS&#8217;s &#8220;Positive Reading&#8221; program. Here, surrounded by furry friends, she practiced reading aloud, gaining confidence with each wagging tail and purring meow. According to JHS Education Manager Savannah New, Studies show these readings calm the animals and likewise benefit the volunteers&#8217; wellbeing. Robins&#8217; mom Erika Sepega attributed Robin&#8217;s improved confidence in reading to the &#8220;Positive Reading&#8221; program.<\/p>\n<p>Does your child share Robin&#8217;s love for animals? The JHS &#8220;Positive Reading&#8221; program welcomes young hearts.
