]]> Rockaway bid on and was awarded the landscape installation contract for the jax chamber building. The project implemented the design by Marquis Halback. The landscaping uses a mix of drought tolerant and Florida friendly plants combined with gravel strips compliment both the surrounding landscaping and the newly installed sculpture. Rockaway also converted the existing high volume irrigation to low volume drip irrigation suitable for the new plantings. Challenges included coordination with other site contractors as well as the installation of the sculpture. We were very flexible with our timing and were delayed numerous times by other vendors. In the end a modern, minimalist landscape was installed and beautifully highlights the artist’s sculpture.

]]> Rockaway was contacted by The Friends of the Beaches Library and asked to partner with them on the landscape beautification project of the Beach’s Library. After several months of meetings with the City of Jacksonville, Architects and the Friends of the Library concerning design and layout, Rockaway was awarded the contract for the new landscaping and irrigation. The project includes a complete site renovation with new walks, lighting, parking, planting areas and irrigation system. The new landscaping consists of low maintenance native plant materials, hardwood trees and palms. Challenges included coordination with the site contractor and the busy public activity on a daily basis at the Library. The project is now complete and Rockaway, Inc. currently maintains the landscape on a weekly basis.

]]> Landscape Maintenance & Renovation

Rockaway was awarded the landscape maintenance and landscape renovation contracts for the Deutsche Bank Operations Campus. The contracts consisted of not only the landscape maintenance of the five-acre site but also the design and installation of landscape and irrigation renovations throughout the site. Rockaway worked closely with the Deutsche Bank, C.B. Richard Ellis, Gilbane Contractors and the Architects on implementing the renovation project.

Challenges included strict coordination with C.B. Richard Ellis and Gilbane during the construction process making sure the operation center and bank employees were not compromised. Phase one of the renovation project was completed in August with phase two following later this year. Rockaway currently maintains the property on a weekly basis.
