]]> The Read and Seed event was a celebration and promotion for literacy held at the Beaches Public Library on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offered free seeds and plants to those checking out and returning library books. This event was sponsored by Rockaway & Friends of the Beaches Library under the auspices of the City of Jacksonville Public Library system.

In the video below, Greg Burghardt & Nellie Hawley, representing Rockaway, introduced the Reed & Seed event celebrating literacy at the Beaches Branch Public Library. A special thank you for assistance in organizing this event goes to Marianna Kane, president of Friends of the Beaches Library, and library staff, including Gail Blumberg and Candy Keene.
