Job Responsibilities

  • Create proposals using LMN.
  • Communicate with clients, other contractors and designers, to pose and answer questions and requests for information, and present proposals/bids in a clear and concise manner.
  • To propose solutions to pricing and design issues, offer value opinions and options.
  • Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness.
  • Communicates the conditions and proposal parameters of awarded projects, including estimated labor and the types of materials and construction processes, to Company management, project managers and foremen, ensuring a smooth and accurate transfer into production.
  • Estimate and generate proposals/bids for maintenance and install leads through site measurements, communication with the client and information from the appropriate division.
  • Onsite visits as needed for measurements, time studies and other functions that will aid in the ongoing improvement of the Companies estimating and bidding process.
  • Maintain awareness of client’s expectations and relationship with the Company and proactively provide feedback and negotiate as required to maximize client satisfaction and retention.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • 2-3 years’ experience as an estimator, project manager, designer and/or senior foreman in the landscape installation industry, with focused knowledge on NE Florida plants and landscape estimating
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all types of people. This position will communicate with clients, other contractors and design professionals and must be able to pose and answer questions and requests for information, and present bids in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must have knowledge in the process installing both planting and hardscape projects, including site works, irrigation, lighting, planting, and other landscape elements.
  • To be able to work efficiently and effectively to produce accurate estimates and proposals and to meet deadlines as required.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, LMN, PRO Landscape Design software, and have the ability to work with CAD generated plans.
  • Requires a motivated self-starter who can work both alone and with a team
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a sense of urgency and results-orientation
  • The ability to think proactively and strategically to propose and implement new and creative ways to approach the landscape estimating process, to continually follow and learn the latest industry products and developments, to increase knowledge of the marketplace and sales opportunities
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
